This FAQ will help you fully understand how DUO works and will benefit you.

What is EPIC DUO?
EPIC DUO, or "Daily Update Option" is a new service that delivers updated Targetand Trade Prices every day to your computer over the Internet. Now you can have the peace of mind knowing that your most commonly purchased items are always current. Need to extend an estimate and need the most current prices available? EPIC DUO is just what you need.

How does EPIC DUO work?
The EPIC software automatically downloads the prices from our web server. You don't have to do anything. Every 5 minutes EPIC checks to see if a new price update is available for download. If a new price update is available, EPIC prompts the user asking if they wish to download the update. Clicking on "YES" will immediately download the update without further user intervention. If a "YES" response isn't received by EPIC within 15 seconds, EPIC will go ahead and automatically download the update.

Does the EPIC DUO take a lot of bandwidth?
No, it doesn't. We use data compression technology to minimize the download time. The download takes about the same amount of time as loading a standard web page.

When I look in EPIC, how can I tell if an item has been updated by DUO?
The items updated are in a dark green bold text on the screen. They are easy to spot.

What types of items are updated by EPIC DUO?
EPIC DUO updates over 10,000 of the most common items that are purchased most frequently. This includes:

Conduit (EMT, GRC, IMC, PVC, Liquidtight, Aluminum Flex, Steel)
Fittings (Elbows, Couplings, Adapters) for all types of conduit
Copper Wire (THHN solid and stranded, XHHW, THW, MTW,
Copper Cable (Romex NM-B and UF-NMCB, SER, SEU, MC,
Aluminum Wire (THHN, XHHW)
Aluminum Cable (SER, SEU, MC)

Where do the Target prices come from?
Vision has contractor sources that supply us with actual prices paid. We continuously analyze these data feeds using our own proprietary methods to determine accurate Target Prices. No other source has the Target Price accuracy like EPIC DUO.

What is the cost of EPIC DUO?
$25 per month. Less than one dollar per day (paid annually)

I have monthly EPIC service now, how does EPIC DUO work with this subscription?
Yes, EPIC DUO is an additional service to the current EPIC subscription you have. So, adding EPIC DUO is no problem.

I still have several months left on my prepaid EPIC subscription. How does adding the EPIC DUO work?
EPIC Duo is $25 per month (we count full months only). So, we simply pro-rate the number of full months on your prepaid subscription and multiply that number by the $25. Example: 5 months and two weeks remaining on a prepaid EPIC subscription is 5 times $25, or $125 total.

How do I upgrade?
There are two ways to upgrade to EPIC DUO:
1. Call the Vision Sales Department to talk to your Sales Representative at 1-800-258-7752
2. Visit our website and fill out the sign-up sheet at www.visioninfosoft.com/DUOupgrade

How do I pay for this service if I sign-up via the website?
We will bill you and send you an upgrade service key to enter into your EPIC software.

Will I still receive an EPIC CD?
Yes, you will still receive an EPIC CD that contains prices on over a million other material items.

Will the EPIC CD prices overwrite my EPIC DUO prices?
No, the EPIC DUO prices are always used, regardless of the prices on your CD

If I miss loading one of my EPIC CD's will this cause a problem with EPIC DUO?
No, EPIC DUO prices are always accurate and current.

What happens if my Internet connection is not working?
EPIC will automatically attempt to download the current price file every 5 minutes. Once the Internet connection is restored, the download will happen automatically.

I have and EPIC Network Version with several users. How does EPIC DUO work for this situation?
The first network user's EPIC that successfully downloads a new price update does so for all users. Each user's EPIC will prompt each user asking them if they want to install the latest update.
